Malcolm Reading will join a range of international speakers as part of the 8th Curatorial Conversations webinar, held on 16 June 2020, 11.30am BST. Based in Hong Kong, Curatorial Conversations is a series of seminars organised as part of the city’s Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture, which aims to build an environment for creative exchange and urbanist advocacy.

This online seminar will de-mystify design competitions and discuss the significant role competitions will play in building future cities. Speakers will provide perspectives of how Hong Kong, and other world cities, can address the issue of design excellence where commercial and public factors align, and where qualitative values and quantitative requirements matter equally.

Malcolm will be joined by Peter Oborn, Architect Adviser to RIBA Competitions; Corrin Chan, Vice-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Architects; Sunnie S.Y. Lau, Director of Smart City Research Industry Collaboration; and panel moderator Roger Wu, Chief Curator of the 2019 Hong Kong Biennale of Urbanism\Architecture.

Architects, designers, planners, clients, and anyone involved or interested in competitions are invited to attend. To RSVP, please click here, or for more information, see the Facebook event.
